How did Akiko and Mike hook up...!? January 20, 1996

Mike and Akiko both went to WPI(Worcester Polytechnic Institute). Freshman year we were both assigned to live in the same co-ed dorm, and on the same floor. But, Mike didn't stay around campus too much at the beginning. And we eventually met playing volleyball together and became friends. Mike gave Akiko a box of Jigsaw Puzzle for her 19th birthday. Mike started to come by Akiko's room every now and then and helped Akiko finish the puzzle. Akiko started to like Mike. But she was not sure if Mike liked her. And guess what Mike said one day. "Will you be my girl?". Akiko said "sure, I will!" and that is how Mike and Akiko started dating on January 20th of 1996.
Engagement October 26, 2004
Our engagement happened during our vacation trip to Japan, on Rokko Mountain in Kobe, up at the top of the mountain. The night view of Kobe is well known for its beauty in Japan, as it's admired by some for its "million-dollar night view." We took the last trolley up to the top. Although it was raining that day, the view was unbelievable and it was very romantic. At the top of the mountain, Mike started to talk about our relationship. He then kneeled down and asked THE question Akiko had waited years to hear, with a ring in his hand. "Will you marry me?" Akiko hesitated to take the ring so Mike was confused. It was so windy that, the often clumsy, Akiko was scared that the ring would fly away:-) Anyhow, she said "Yes!". Mike and Akiko rushed back to catch the last trolley for the night. Akiko had tears in her eyes. Of course, they were happy tears. This is how Mike and Akiko were engaged on October 26th of 2004.
